100 Improvisations for Solo Piano
Track Eight: Magic from Vol. VII
Composer: Liam Pitcher
🎶 Oh oh oh, It's magic, you know, never believe, it's not so 🎶
Sorry, could not resist sharing a snippet of that Pilot song 😂
Anyways, Magic by Liam Pitcher is a slower version of his composition Earth, and it also explores chromatic voice leading using chords. It has a lovely ABACA structure. For every A section, Pitcher interrupts it with an interlude in the parallel major. The Interludes are light in texture and consist of two to three consecutive voices. The climax is at its end and unfolds in large, slow chords between hands.
